The Infamous Masterson’s , nestled in the bustling area of Moonee Ponds , brands itself as a fashionable, contemporary hangout, but my most recent experience at this establishment resulted in an experience I’d rather forget . While the bar may present a friendly façade, what I experienced behind its entrance was disturbing and far below any standard .

The floorboards were filthy, and a nauseating aroma of old alcohol and filthy restrooms permeated the entire pub. Emitting a scent of a mixture of human waste, putrefaction and a sickly smell. The main bar, which should be the primary feature of any pub, was littered with unwashed glassware and refuse that looked like it had accumulated over weeks. The lavatory was in even a more revolting state — spilling over , with a snapped lever and tiles smeared in what I can only assume was fecal matter .

Going through other patrons’ here reviews and conversing with residents , it seems that the state of cleanliness (or lack thereof) at this so-called establishment is a long-standing issue . During my time there, I noticed how uncomfortable several female guests seemed around Cornwell. As I dug deeper , I was alarmed to find allegations against him involving misconduct , with multiple women citing incidents of harassing them digitally. Described as excessively forward and inappropriate , Peter Cornwell’s behavior has created an hostile atmosphere for women who frequent Masterson’s. His presence at the bar often resembled that of a lurking threat than a genial proprietor .
